Abstract

886,455. Electric measuring bridges. LANDIS & GYR A.G. April 22, 1960 [April 25 1959], No. 14238/60. Class 37. A current-measuring bridge comprises two arms each of which includes a resistance element (7 or 8), the resistance of which varies with magnetic field strength, disposed in a magnetic field (B 1 +B0 or B 1 -B0) the fields B0 being produced by permanent magnets 5, 6 and B 1 by electromagnets 3, 4 energized by the current through conductor 2 which is to be measured. The other two arms of the bridge consist of high resistors 9, 10 and the output is taken from 14, 15 to a quotient meter 17 which will indicate the current through conductor 2. The bridge supply is derived from conductors 1, 2 and connected across terminals 11, 12. In another embodiment (Fig. 3, not shown) a potentiometer replaces resistors 9, 10 and a potentiometer is also connected between elements 7, 8.
