Abstract
886,276. Mineral-mining machines. EICKHOFF MASCHINENFABRIK UND EISENGIESSEREI GEB. Oct. 29, 1958 [Nov. 19, 1957], No. 34611/58. Class 68(1). The cutter means of a mineral-mining machine is mounted on a frame that can be reciprocated horizontally on a structure pivotally mounted about a vertical axis on a second frame that can also be horizontally reciprocated on a third frame. The cutter means consists of a pair of drum cutters 46 rotatably mounted at the front of the first frame which carries an endless conveyer 41 and the motors 40 for driving the cutter drums. A jack extends between this frame and the structure 32 over which the frame slides on parallel guide rails secured to the structure. The second frame 31 bridges and slides on the sides of the front horizontal portion 14 of a scraper conveyer having an upwardly directed rear portion 19, the scraper conveyer being the third frame. The second frame 31 is reciprocated by motors 26 on the third frame driving pinions 28 meshing with racks 29 on the sides of the third frame. The front of the first frame is supported on the ground through an endless track-supported frame 54, driving of the track of which causes slewing of the first frame. Roof-engaging jacks 56, 21 are provided for the anchoring of either the first or third frames as required during the operation of the machine.
