885,176. Transformers and inductances. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. May 11, 1960 [May 11, 1959], No. 16044/59. Class 38 (2). A core for a combined choke and transformer has a set of laminations 8 formed with a window and U-shaped arms of unequal length, another set of laminations 9 having a limb passing across the core window. The transformer windings 13 are carried on this limb and the choke core is completed by a further set of laminations 10. The set of laminations 8 may be arranged in two parallel pockets, one below and one above the limb 9, and held by rivets 16 and 17 (Fig. 4, not shown). Air gaps 11, 12 are provided. Specification 733,194 is referred to.
