Abstract
883,930. Treating gases with liquids. METALLGESELLSCHAFT A.G. Feb. 18, 1960 [April 21, 1959], No. 5844/60. Class 55 (2). [Also in Group XXIX] A sprayer for gas treatment spaces includes a vessel 1, with a liquid inlet 2 and a cover 5, which houses a detachable slotted tubular insert 11 over which a strainer jacket 12 is secured by sleeves 14. The bottom 17 of the insert carries a tubular part 18 into which an atomizing nozzle 19 is screwed, and the lower end of the insert is attached to one half 22 of a bayonet coupling. The other half 20 of the coupling is attached to the base of the vessel, and the nozzle, which includes an insert to provide swirling, extends through an opening in that base. The part 18 may be of sufficient length to project downwards to a required position in the gas treatment space. After removing the vessel cover which is normally held in position by a bridge-piece 6, bolts 7 and 8, and a spindle 10 with a handle 9, the insert 11 and its attachments are removed with the aid of a handle 16 attached to the top cover of the insert.
