Abstract
883,497. Drying webs. FLEISSNER & CO. G.m.b.H. June 17, 1959 [June 18, 1958], No. 20751/59. Class 34(1) An air guiding system for a drum sieve drier comprises guiding means which so guide the hot air in the region of the drum periphery covered by the material that one component of the flow is directed in the direction of the movement of the material. An air guiding system for a drum sieve drier for strips of material 20 comprises baffles 7 bent at their ends nearest the effective drying peripheries of the drums so that a portion of the air flow 6 is deflected substantially in the direction of movement of the strips while the remainder is directed perpendicularly to the drum casings. Further baffles 10 are mounted between the drum casing and the inner cover plate to deflect the drying air which enters through the perforations of the drum in the direction of movement of the material and a perforated baffle 9 covers a portion of the effective drying area of the drum to prevent an excess of drying air at that point of the drum periphery.
