882,572. Shaft couplings. ETABLISSEMENTS NEYRPIC ATELIERS NEYRETBEYLIER ET PICCARD-PICTET. Oct. 16, 1959 [Oct. 20, 1958], No. 35144/59. Class 80 (2). [Also in Group XXI] An axially separable coupling between a turbine shaft 32 and a drill shaft 41 of a wellstring comprises interengaging teeth 56 fast with the shaft, and a spacing sleeve 59 or rod (Fig. 11, not shown) which maintains the correct distance between the shafts and transmits axial thrust therebetween. The ends of the teeth are inclined to facilitate blind coupling and sealing rings 61 are provided between the sleeve 59 and shafts 32, 41 to prevent entry of foreign matter. The drill shaft carries a bit and is supported axially and radially by bearings, Fig. 1 (not shown), against the casing 17. The turbine shaft carries the turbine rotors, Fig. 1 (not shown), spaced between stationary blades on the casing 17.
