Abstract

882,353. Motor vehicles. DAIMLER-BENZ A.G. Aug. 30, 1960 [Sept. 1, 1959], No. 29887/60. Classes 79(2) and 79(3). The staircase of a double-decker omnibus has a lower portion 14 extending transversely of the vehicle and two upper portions 12<SP>11</SP>, 12<SP>11</SP>, the power unit being disposed in the space R beneath the staircase. The power unit comprises a multi-cylinder in-line engine having a gearbox 15, the output shaft of which extends forwardly to a spur gearing 17 from which the drive to the rear wheels is taken by the shafting 18, 22.
