Abstract

882,216. Two-part couplings. NATIONAL RESEARCH DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION. Dec. 16, 1959 [Sept. 26, 1958], No. 30770/58. Class 38 (1). A two-part electric coupling comprises one part with a pin 1e having an enlarged head 1c and a shroud 1d which respectively engage as an interference fit in a slotted socket 2c of the other part and on the outer surface 2a of the socket so as to cause deformation of part or parts of the socket firstly by entry of the head 1c and then by entry of the socket prongs into the shroud. In a modification the pocket bore is larger near the open end to provide further for compression of the prongs.
