Abstract

881,908. Cooling dynamo-electric machines. PARSONS & CO. Ltd., C. A. June 9, 1959 [May 15, 1958], No. 15663/58. Class 35. In a dynamo-electric machine whose sbator is cooled by the arrangement described in Specification 842,702 the phase and earth connections form inlet and outlet pipes for the coolant liquid. In a modification the manifold boxes 3a, 3b are all disposed at one end of the winding, the liquid flow being reversed at the opposite end (Fig. 4, not shown). The phase and earth connections comprise hollow conductors 5 which pass through terminal bushings 7. Electrical connection is made by links 13 while insulating tubes 12 connect them to inlet and outlet manifolds 6, 8.
