881,367. Container closures. McGLOIN, F. J. Aug. 10, 1960 [Aug. 14, 1959], No. 27659/60. Class 125(3). A safety closure for a screw top container comprises a synthetic resin or metal band 8 rotatably mounted on a cap 5. The band may be retained on the cap by the engagement of an annular rib 10 on the band engaging in a recess 6 in the cap or the rib 10 may be formed on the cap and the recess 6 in the band. In a further modification the cap may be formed with a flange at the top and bottom defining a recess in which the band is retained.
