Abstract
880,493. Cooling discharge tubes. SIEMENS & HALSKE A. G. April 23, 1958 [April 23, 1957], No. 12952/58. Class 39(1) An evaporation cooling system for an electronic tube 4, 5 includes a surface condenser having a cooling tube or tubes 7 and formed integrally with a cooling chamber 1 containing a cooling liquid 2 in contact with part 5 of the tube, wherein the surface condenser includes funnel means for the vapour including an internal wall or walls 8 extending from below the level of the liquid between the tube or tubes 7 and an inner side wall or walls 6 of the condenser to a part 10 thereof remote from the chamber 1. The vapour passes down over the tube or tubes to be condensed and return as liquid at 11 to the chamber 1. A vapour exhaust 14 is arranged in the outer side wall 13, or one of the outer side walls, of the condenser and is connected to an indicating device, e.g. a contact thermometer. which is operated if the vapour is not being condensed at a predetermined rate.
