Abstract
878,049. Automatic gramophones. FOSTERMALLARD Ltd. July 13, 1960 [June 15, 1959], No. 20449/59. Drawings to Specification. Class 40 (2). In an automatic gramophone, for playing both sides of the records, in which a pick-up with oppositely directed styli is alternatively raised against the lowest record on the stack and/or lowered on to the record on the turntable, switching means for a stereophonic pick-up is provided such that the two pick-up circuits are connected to separate amplifier circuits through a change-over switch which is changed over when the pick-up is moved from playing an upper record to playing a lower record, and vice versa, so that the stereophonic relationship of the channels is not reversed when a change-over of pick-up positions takes place. The change-over switch is operated by the ramps which change over of movement of the pick-up, a short circuit being automatically applied by the same means to the amplifier inputs while the change over takes place.
