Abstract

In a process of moulding an article of wearing apparel, e.g. a glove or overshoe, having a non-clammy texture on pre-selected areas thereof, the article is formed in a mould from a liquid dispersion of a vinyl resin, which is gelatinized by mild heat and then cooled below the gelatinization temperature, and over the pre-selected areas there is then applied a thin coating of further liquid dispersion of a vinyl resin, and without an intermediate gelatinizing step the article is heated to a high temperature to fuse the resin. The vinyl resin may consist of a vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymer of low molecular weight admixed with a plasticizer, a stabilizer, and a colourant or filler, which is gelatinized at a temperature not exceeding 180 DEG F., and which is fused at 300 DEG F. in the final step of the process. Advantageously the vinyl resin may also include polyvinyl chloride.
