Abstract
874,728. Railway vehicle suspension. SPENCER MOULTON & CO. Ltd., GEORGE, and DISTINGTON ENGINEERING CO. Ltd. Jan. 5, 1959 [Oct. 4, 1957], No. 31179/57. Class 103(6). The circular section axle 3, Fig. 1, of the wheels 6 of a railway vehicle is housed in an aperture 4 in an inverted truncated V-shaped block 5 welded to support plates 78 bonded to rubber shear pads or sandwiches of rubber and metal plates in turn bonded to inclined horn plates 9, 10, welded to a top sill 11 and to fillet plates 12, 14 also welded to the sill 11, the latter having an aperture 20 to receive a pin 19 on the block and being secured to the vehicle frame 17 by studs or bolts 16 and nuts 18. An aperture 21 in the frame 17 is aligned with the aperture 20. Specification 791,864 is referred to.
