Abstract

874,617. Cartons. DIXON, R. Jan. 22, 1959 [Oct. 23, 1957], No. 33026/57. Class 18. A lidded carton is formed from a one-piece blank as in Fig. 1, sides 4, 8 and ends 2, 2 being joined together by gusset portions 13, 13a and 6, 6a of which the shaded portions 13a, 6a are treated with adhesive, the ends 2 being then folded inwards on to the base panel 1 so that the gusset portions 13a, 6a stick to the sides 8, 4. The carton is erected from this flat position by pulling the ends 2 upright, folding extension flap 5 inwardly of the side 4 so that its locking tabs 5x enter slits 14 in the ends 2 and fold:ng in extension flaps 3 on the ends 2 parallel with the base 1, see Fig. 3. The lid is erected in a similar manner.
