Abstract

873,310. Collapsible box pallets for handling loads. FISHER & LUDLOW Ltd. Feb. 3, 1959 [Feb. 5, 1958], No. 3715/58. Class 78 (4). Sides 15 of a collapsible box pallet, Fig. 1, are provided with brackets 19 having slots 20 which are engaged by pins 23 secured to the base 10, the pins engaging in recesses 27, Fig. 3, in the slots when the sides 15 are in their operative upright positions. To collapse the pallet, sides 14, supported on sides 15 by hooks 35 and spigots 36, are detached, and sides 15 are raised to bring the pins 23 out of the recesses 27 in slots 20 and to bring the bottoms of the corner posts 16 out of sockets 29 in the feet of the base member 10. The sides 15 are then pivoted down to lie parallel to the base 10, as shown in Fig. 2. The corner posts 16 are provided with nesting sockets 34 which, when the pallet is erected, receive the feet of an adjacent pallet.
