Abstract

873,307. Conveyer belt cleaning apparatus. MOTTRAM, G. S. Oct. 24, 1957 [Nov. 6, 1956], No. 33785/56. Class 78 (1). [Also in Group XXIII] Cleaning apparatus for a belt or other endless conveyer consists of a motordriven rotary brush 11, which may be of nylon strip or bristle, mounted on a shaft 10 journalled in bearings 8, 9 which are carried by brackets 6, 7 welded to a tube 5. The tube 5 is itself rotatable in bearings 3, 4, carried by a base-plate 1 and is provided with a lever 16 for adjusting the position of the brush relative to the conveyer. A number of holes 17 are drilled in the lever 16 and several series of holes 18 are drilled in a stationary plate 19 so that a pin 20 can be inserted through any one of the holes 18 into one of the holes 17 to lock the roller in any one of a number of closely adjacent angular positions. A motor 12 and gear-box 13 are secured to a bracket 15 welded to the tube 5 and drive the brush through a flexible coupling 14.
