Abstract

871,308. Clamps. AUTOMOTIVE PRODUCTS CO. Ltd. Dec. 13, 1957 [Dec. 13, 1956; Feb. 1, 1957], Nos. 38120/56 and 3639/57. Class 44. [Also in Group XXXIV] A fluid-tight closure at the outer end of a cylinder of a spot-type disc brake (Group XXXIV) is retained in the cylinder 14 by a resilient ring 19 engaging in a groove 21 in the wall of the cylinder and is prevented from moving inwardly by clamping means 23. The clamping means consists of a V-shaped member adapted to be bolted at its apex to the centre of the closure member 17 and the ends of the clamping means are bent to form hooks 24 which enter holes in radially inwardly projecting tabs 22 of the ring 19.
