Abstract

870,353. Pyrophoric lighters. ATTWOOD, F. E. March 31, 1960 [Jan. 14, 1959], No. 1360/59. Class 75(3). A pyrophoric lighter comprises a liquefied gas container 9 having a valve 11 controlled by a member 16, and an igniter 4, 5 controlled by a lever 6, the members 16, 6 being adjacent one another so as to be operable by a single movement of a thumb. The valve is preferably opened before the igniter operates. The container 9, valve 11 and control 16 may be a replaceable unit.
