Abstract
870,160. Covers for screw &c. heads; washers. FAILLETTAZ, R. May 28,1958 [May 31, 1957; Oct. 31, 1957], No. 17088/58. Class 89(1). A round-head screw 10, Fig. 1, clamps a workpiece 26 with a countersunk hole 30 through a plurality of spacers 22, 24, the one adjacent the clamping face 18 of the head being of larger outer diameter than the next and of smaller diameter than the head, leaving a step to receive the inturned flange 36 of a resiliently deformable cap 16, e.g. of rubber, flexible metal or a synthetic resin such as polyethylene or nylon. One or more of the spacers may have a bevelled edge to mate with the hole 30. In a modification, spacer 22 is integral with the screw head. In another arrangement, a countersunk-head screw 68, Fig. 4, clamps a workpiece 74 with a parallel hole 76 through spacers 88, 90, the one adjacent the upper face of the head having a larger inner diameter than the next and a smaller inner diameter than the maximum head diameter, leaving a step to receive the cap flange.
