865,506. Locking rotary elements. GOLDE G.m.b.H., H. T., GOLDE, H., and LOFFLER, M., [trading as GOLDE GESELLSCHAFT & CO. KOMM.-GES., H. T.]. May 25, 1959 [Dec. 6, 1958], No. 17768/59. Class 80 (4). Rotation of a wheel 3, e.g. driving the sliding roof of a car through cables 4, 5, is limited by a planet wheel 22 having an axially extending projection 26 moving with clearance in an arcuate slot 28 in a supporting member 11 and rotatable about an eccentric flange 18 of a manually-operated wheel driving spindle 1, the planet being in toothed rolling contact with an internal cylindrical wall 25a of the supporting member 11 concentric with the driving spindle 1, so that on each rotation of the driving handle 2 the planet 22 is moved through an angle corresponding to the product of the difference in number of teeth 23, 25 (one preferred) and the tooth pitch to move the projection 26 between the ends of the arcuate slot 28. The projection 26 may be used to actuate limit switches when an electric drive is applied to the spindle 1. To increase the angularity of the angular limits additional planet trains may be arranged in series.
