Abstract
865,162. Preheating and charging cement raw materials. KLOCKNER-HUMBOLTDEUTZ A.G. Sept. 26, 1958 [Oct. 30, 1957], No. 30803/58. Class 51 (2). In apparatus for preheating and charging cement raw materials of the type disclosed in Specification 703,951, the serially-connected cyclone separators 2, 3, 4 and 5 are followed by a known electrostatic precipitator 6 from which material is discharged by a rotary pocketed drum 24 and a hopper 22 into a feed-pipe 21 opening into the gas duct 12 leading to the last cyclone separator 5. Charge material is also fed from hopper 15 by a rotary pocketed drum 23 into said pipe 21, which incorporates a dust seal formed on a counterweighted flap 25 as in Specification 710,236, similar seals being disposed below each separator. In a modification, Fig. 2 (not shown), there are three cyclone separators and the hopper 15 feeds into the gas duct leading to the electrostatic precipitator.
