[Also in Groups I and XVII] A washing, rinsing or straining receptacle 1 for use in a sink 4 is open at its bottom and incorporates a removable reticulated partition 20, the base of the receptacle being in the form of a reversible stand 11 having legs 12 with feet 13 and forming a seal with the lower edge of the receptacle wall. The receptacle has handles 2 and brackets 15 adjustable on guide-rods 14 removably secured to the stand 11 so that the receptacle may be raised off the stand. The bottom edges have a rubber sheathing 6, which may be in the.form of an inflatable air chamber, and a flexible sheet 10, adhered to the stand 11, may lie between the receptacle and the stand 11. The sheathing 6 may be narrowed at its lower end or have a flange tapering inwardly of the receptacle, Figs. 3 and 4, respectively (not shown). The receptacle may be held down by springs, Fig. 2 (not shown), or by weights attached to it, or have external pockets to catch water overflowing from it. In Fig. 6 (not shown), the receptacle wall is flanged outwards at its lower end, fitted with a flexible lining and held within a ring carried by the stand. In other forms, Figs. 7-8 and 11 (not shown), the receptacle may be of polyethylene, be fixed to the stand by clamping-screws, and have adjustable legs; or it may be of plastics material having its lower rim as shown in Figs. 9 and 10 with or without a metal reinforcement in the plastics material; or the stand may have a discharge opening fitted with a plug, valve or grid ; or the receptacle may be flexible, of wire or plastics strips, and covered with an impermeable fabric.
