Abstract

864,158. Valve gear. FORD MOTOR CO. Ltd. (Ford Motor Co.). April 8, 1959. No. 11832/59. Class 7(6). Valve gear comprises a stationary support member 23, Fig. 1, having at least one hole or depression 22 which mates with a projection 17 of a rocker arm 10 to guide the rocker arm in a rolling path on the surface of the support member. The projections may be welded to, or pressed out from, the rocker arm which can be cast, stamped or fabricated. In another embodiment, Fig. 3, the stationary support member is of channel-section and the pivotal contact surfaces of the rocker arm in each embodiment may be of arcuate or involute form.
