Abstract
863,833. Wire-wound resistors. SOC. ELETTROTECNICA CHIMICA ITALIANA, and CANEGALLO, G. July 21, 1958 [July 25, 1957], No. 23341/58. Class 37. In a resistor, a primary cord comprises a metallic conductor wound helically on a first insulating core, the primary cord E is wound helically on a second core S2 and at least the turns of the primary cord on the second core are separated from each other by thread or twisted yarn of insulating material I wound helically on the second core. As described, nickel-chromium or constantan wire is wound on a primary core of silk, cotton, synthetic fibre, spun glass or asbestos. The resistor is protected with one or more layers of insulating resin, silicone paint, wax or gum which may also contain powder or granules of quartz, magnesium oxide, mica, glass, enamel or silicates. These solid substances may alternatively be applied by dusting, spraying or by electrostatic deposition.
