Abstract

800,796. Filters for liquids. BENDIX AVIATION CORPORATION. Jan. 18, 1956 [March 7, 1955], No. 1736/56. Class 46. A filter element comprises layers of multiple strand wire &c., wound on a cylindrical core and means closing the ends of the layers the means having a rib which contacts directly the end convolution of each of the layers to maintain them in proper inter-relationship. Three layers 12, 14, 16 of stainless steel wire, each composed of stranded or braided wire are helically wound on a central core 10 and the ends of the layers sealed by an end cap 20 which is beaded as at 24 to grip the layers. Plastic or fibrous material may replace the stainless steel.
