Abstract
A coating of soft metal is formed on a surface of harder material by contacting said surface with the periphery of a rotating wire brush loaded with soft metal. Specified soft metals are aluminium, copper, brass, tin, zinc and lead. The surface to be coated may be composed of glass, steel, copper or molybdenum. The brush may be of steel wire which is either loaded with powdered metal or maintained loaded by contacting it during the coating operation with a body of soft metal. The invention may be applied to the provision of an earthing strip on an electric discharge lamp, and to the manufacture of printed circuits. According to the Provisional Specification, the brush itself may be composed of the soft metal.
