Abstract

861,872. Regulating switches; cam-operated switches. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Ltd., and RUNCIMAN, R. D. Feb. 4, 1959 [Feb. 18, 1958], No. 5266/58. Class 38 (5). [Also in Group XL (c)] A selector switch, e.g. a television channelselector, has four printed circuit panels 1, carrying, e.g., printed inductances, the panels being selectively movable in slots 5 in a frame 4 mounted on a further printed circuit panel 3. The panels 1 are urged towards the panel 3 by springs 16, which hold the panels 1 in engagement with cams 14 on a spindle 6. Each cam has a flat, the flats on the four cams being spaced angularly by 90 degrees, so that only one panel 1 can occupy its lower operative position at a time. In such position, the pattern on the panel engages fixed contacts 20. The cooperation of the panels and the cam flats serves to locate the shaft 6 in its operative positions.
