861,750. Making wheels. EATON MANUFACTURING CO. Sept. 3, 1959 [Sept. 12, 1958], No. 30075/59. Class 83 (2). A method of making a wheel comprises cupping the central part 16 of a disc, Fig. 2, and reverse cupping the central part 20 of the cupped portion so that it extends equally on each side of the plane of the disc, Fig. 3. The curves are then sharpened by successive pressing operations to the shape shown in Fig. 7, the imperforate end 42 of the hub portion is cut off and the outer edge of the flange 18 is split and splayed out to form a V-groove 52, Fig. 9.
