Abstract

861,433. Rocket motors. BOFORS A.B. Aug. 19, 1959 [Sept. 20, 1958], No. 28352/59. Class 9(2). The propellant 3 of a rocket motor 1 is fitted internally with a tracer charge 5 which is coaxial with the exhaust nozzle 2 of the motor. The propellant 3 is in. the form of tubes which are prevented from moving rearwards by a screen 4. The charge 5 is housed in a casing 6 having a heatinsulating liner 7 consisting of a mixture of small glass beads and a binding agent. An igniter 8 for the tracer, which is covered by a thin moisture-proof layer 9, is adjacent the nozzle, so that the ignition of the tracer is produced by the propellent gases.
