Abstract

858,977. Magnets. ROLA CELESTION Ltd. Aug. 31, 1959 [June 6, 1958], No. 18197/58. Class 35. A permanent magnet structure, e.g. for a loudspeaker, comprises a member 10 of sintered powder construction having a first part 12 of permanentlymagnetized material and an integral second part 11 of non-retentive material by which it is welded at W to a yoke member 13. The member 10 is produced in a mould, a thin layer of powdered soft-iron for the part 11 being placed in first, followed by the powdered permanently-magnetizable material (not named), the whole being then compressed and sintered. The portion of the magnet 10 opposite the air gap 16 may also be of sintered soft iron.
