Abstract
1,037,244. Magnetic structures. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES Ltd. Feb. 19, 1965 [Feb. 20, 1964], No. 7130/64. Heading H1H. [Also in Division H4] In a moving coil microphone, one of the polepieces is made of porous material, e.g. sintered iron of density 6 gms./c.c. A cylindrical permanent magnet 1 is located in an iron, steel or sintered iron cup-shaped yoke 2 and a ring-shaped polepiece 3 is force fitted into a seating 4 in the open end of the cup. A dome-shaped polepiece 12 is secured to the free end of the magnet. The density of the sintered parts may be graduated from one part of the magnetic circuit to another.
