Abstract

857,322. Carburetters. SOC. INDUSTRIELLE DE BREVETS ET D'ETUDE, S.I.B.E. June 8, 1959 [June 13, 1958], No. 19556/59. Class 7(3). Means for the automatic control of the starting devices of carburetters, the means consisting of a thermosensitive element (bimetallic coil 19) adapted to render the starting device 13 inoperative by the effect of its heating and to render the device operative by the effect of its cooling, the element being heated by an electric resistor 20 and being supported by an insulating member 27 which also supports the heating resistor, is characterized in that the electric resistor consists of a material having a high temperature coefficient. The material may be such that its electrical resistance increases by at least 20% when its temperature rises from about 15‹C. to about 200‹C. The material may be iron or nickel or an alloy of these two metals. The casing 23 preferably consists of a material such as synthetic resin which forms a thermal insulator to minimize the influence exerted on the temperature of the element 19 by the temperature outside the casing 23.
