Abstract

853,881. Paper bags. PAPER SACKS Ltd. Dec. 23, 1958 [Jan. 1, 1958], No. 95/58. Class 94(2). The outer ply face flaps 2, 3 of a block-bottom multiply bag 1 are formed by slitting the longitudinal creases of a flat bag tube and are folded transversely to completely envelope the block-bottom inner ply folds 4, 5 and are adhesively secured around and under or over the diamond corner folds 11 of the blockbottom to stop ingress and egress of powder or gases. Flap 2 is larger than flap 3 and both are folded over at the same time as the inner ply folds 4, 5 are formed. In bags having a valve corner the outer ply face flaps are terminated short to leave the valve opening free for bag filling.
