Steering of the head 1 of a boring machine, in which the head supporting frame is supported at the front by ground wheels 5 and at the rear by a lateral extendable prop 10, is by a pair of hydraulically actuated extendable struts 9 pivotally secured at 14 and 8 to the ends of the prop and to the frame on either side of the longitudinal axis thereof.
