851,816. Photographic light-sensitive materials. KODAK Ltd. June 4, 1957 [June 4, 1956], No. 17138/56. Class 98(2) A photographic silver halide emulsion or adjacent layer contains as anti-foggant or antiplumming agent a compound of the general formula: wherein X is vinylene (substituted or not),- CR<1>=N-(R<1> being H, OH or alkyl),-S-, -O- or -NH-, Y and Z are hydrogen or alkyl or hydroxyl groups or together complete a benzene ring which may carry substituents, and R is hydrogen, alkyl, alkali metal or silver. Compounds specified are those wherein Y and Z complete a benzene ring, X is O, S, NH or -CH= CH-, and R is H or CH3, and 4-hydroxy-6- methyl-1; 2; 3a; 7-tetrazaindene-3-thiol. Specification 851,815 is referred to.
