Abstract
1320756 Photographic silver halide materials ILFORD Ltd 3 May 1971 [7 May 1970] 22143/70 Heading G2C A photographic material comprises a support having coated thereon at least one photographic silver halide emulsion layer or at least one emulsion layer which contains a developed silver image and a protective supercoat layer consisting of a water-permeable colloid layer which has dispersed therein a compound of the general formula: wherein at least one of R 1 and R 2 is the residue of an unsaturated fatty acid having from 16 to 30 carbon atoms, hydrogen atom and n is 8-200, the other of R 1 and R 2 is a similar residue or is a compound being substantive to the water-permeable colloid layer, substantially colourless and having a boiling point greater than 200‹ C. An example of the said compound is a condensate of ricinoleic acid and polyethylene oxide known as polyethylene glycol 400 di-triricinoleate. The colloid may be gelatine.
