Abstract

A pressure vessel bulb 210 is screwed into a ring 282 of an attachment. In order to pierce the seal on the bulb, once it is connected to the bulb, a piston 240 is urged inwardly by pushing its projecting end against an abutment. That inwards movement causes a valve 250 and a piercer 222 carried by the valve to move towards, and pierce the valve. The released fluid pressure closes the valve and the pressure in a chamber 288 causes a sealing piston 284 to be moved towards the bulb to compress and enhance the seal provided by an O-ring 218 located between the bulb and the sealing piston.
