Abstract

850,307. Arc-rupturing in switches. ALLISCHALMERS MANUFACTURING CO. March 3, 1958 [March 6, 1957], No. 6793/58. Class 38 (5). In a circuit-breaker with an arc-chute as described in Specification 850,306 separate chimney vents 24, 25 are arranged above the arc-runners 20, 21 to receive the arc-products therefrom. These vents are provided with spaced cooling elements in the form of tubes 30 of metallic or non-metallic material having a high specific heat.
