850,145. Untwisted yarns. SOC. DE CONSTRUCTIONS MECANIQUES DE STAINS Dec. 15, 1958 [Jan. 3, 1958], No. 40429/58. Drawings to Specification. Classes 120(2) and 120(3). The method of producing untwisted yarns from yarns of parallel fibres described in Specification 850,146 is applied to tows emanating from a direct spinning process, i.e. one in which groups of continuous filaments are converted into tows of fibres, e.g. by stretching between nip rollers or staggered cutting. The false twister employed may be a tube containing a traverse bar or lateral eye, or a rotating conical member. Specifications 650,896 and 734,937 also are referred to.
