Abstract

849,736. Spring clips. F.T. PRODUCTS Ltd. July 31, 1958 [May 30, 1957], No. 17259/57. Class 44. A fastener comprises a single strip of resilient material, one end portion of which is bent substantially to the shape of a U 11 having in one of its limbs at least one prong 19 directed inwardly and rearwardly with respect to the U, the other end of the strip extending forwardly of the open mouth of the U as an arm 12 which is bent away from the U and has a deformation such as a bend or protuberance which serves as a pressure point spaced from the U. The construction shown has a bend acting as the pressure point, and this may be modified to provide a pointed prong. In another construction, a saucer-shaped depression is provided at the bend. A single square-nosed prong 19 can be provided or two pointed prongs.
