Abstract

849,462. Sheet extrusion nozzles. KOCH, H., [trading as MACHINENFABRIK H. KOCH]. Oct. 15, 1956 [Oct. 14, 1955], No. 31380/56. Class 87(2). A sheet extrusion nozzle comprises a distrubuter connecting a supply conduit 1 to a nozzle mouth 7 wherein the channel 2, 3 in the distributer widens to the full width of the mouth 7 and then narrows in depth at an axial distance from the mouth outlet which is greatest in the middle of the width of the channel 2, 3. This is said to promote an even flow of plastic material through the nozzle. The triangle formed by the narrowed portion of the channel may have an apex angle of 150 degrees, the nozzle may have separate adjustable lips 11 bounded by strips 8 of say polytetrafluoroethylene and the lips 11 may have provision 7a for heating elements.
