Abstract

849,002. Hopperfeeders. WH1TELEY, T. A., and ROSE, W. Jan. 28, 1957 [Dec. 22, 1955; Feb. 4, 1956], Nos. 36785/55 and 3558/56. Class 120(1). Textile fibres are fed up- wards out of a hopper feeder H by an endless lattice 10 and discharged by rotating wheel 12 (or endless belt) to a scribbler, the wheel ensuring uniform delivery by breaking up any lumps fed from the lattice. As shown the roller 12 is driven from lattice 10 through gears 24, 26, 19 which are carried adjustably on lever 30, A brush 46 is oscillated about 50 over the surface of wheel 12 by the lever system 54, 52, 48. The surface speed of the roller may be greater than that of the lattice, the roller being positioned anywhere along the length of the said lattice. Roller 12 is adjustable at 16.
