[Also in Group XXVIII] In a container closure arrangement wherein a snap-on cover 11 with a depressed end wall 12 and rim 14 engages a container 10 with rim 20, either the cover 11 or the rim 20 is formed of a polyolefine such as low pressure polyethylene having an outer layer which is inherently softer and more easily deformed than the interior bulk of the material. Both the cover and rim may be of the same material. In a modification, Fig. 3, walls 32, 33 form a groove which is engaged by the rim 27 of the container. The polyethylene bearing surface may be provided as a surface layer or lamination. Specification 662,219 is referred to.
