Abstract

845,783. Surgical &c. tables. GENERAL RADIOLOGICAL Ltd. Feb. 25, 1959 [Nov. 25, 1957], No. 36659/57. Class 52(3) The top of a table for radiography is secured to pivotally mounted pads A, B the pads B being carried by parallel arms 9 connected to the frame by pivots 8 coaxial with those of the pads A. The arms are connected by links 13 to sliders 14 actuated by nuts 21 slidable along bars 15 on rotation of screws 16 operated by a motor 19. The top can thereby be tilted to a vertical position about the pivots 8. If tilting in the opposite direction is required the pads A are mounted on a duplicate set of arms as shown actuated by similar links from the same screws and castellated couplings are provided between the sliders and nut which' are automatically engaged or disengaged on partial rotation of the nut by a radial tail piece running in a cam track 25 in the bar 15 so that when one slider 14 is being pushed by the nut the other can remain stationery.
