In an endless elevator of the kind in which the endless conveying element consists of a succession of slats 3 carried between a pair of endless chains 5, the conveying element is supported at each end of the elevator by a drum composed of a pair of sprockets 6 for the chains and a number of rods or bars 4 secured by brackets 6a between opposed teeth of the sprockets so as to enter and seal the spaces between the slats 3.
