844,588. Tubular heat exchangers. HUET, A. March 13, 1959 [March 14, 1958], No. 8827/59. Class 64(3) A heat exchange tube is formed from a tube a of star section sandwiched between two concentric tubes b and c to provide two passages A and B for fluids in heat exchange relationship and is characterized by at least one of the passages being provided with surfaces presenting corrugations in the axial direction of the tube. The corrugations may be formed as at g on the exterior of the internal tube or on the interior of the external tube or may be in the form of corrugated strips spot-welded at intervals to the tubes. The wall of the star section a may also be corrugated in a longitudinal direction.
