Abstract

843,439. Tube joints. SVENSKA METALLVERKEN A. B. Nov. 12, 1958 [Nov. 15, 1957], No. 36439/58. Class 99(1). In a joint between a tube 1 of synthetic plastic and a pipe 6 of an arbitrary composition, e.g. metal, the end of the tube 1 is provided around its opening with an integral conical annular bead 2 of plastic having the base of the cone adjacent the opening, reinforcements 14, e.g. at least one metal annulus or segments of metal annuli, being partly or entirely embedded in or baked into the bead. A cup-formed flange 5 having an internal conical surface 4 fitted over the bead 2 is drawn by bolts and nuts 11, 12 into sealing abutting engagement with a metal flange 8 screw-threaded on the tube 6.
