836,689. Road vehicle spring suspensions. ROVER CO. Ltd. Aug. 6, 1958, No. 25246/58. Class 108(2) The king pin in an independent wheel suspension comprises a sleeve 4 carrying the road wheel axle 1 and connected by rubber joints 11, 16, to an inner spindle 5. The latter is connected to wishbone type links 22, 23, by ball joints 6, 7. When the road wheel is not intended to be steerable the sleeve 4 is prevented from rotating by means of a link 30 jointed at 31 to the chassis frame and at 31a to an arm 29 rigid with the sleeve 4. The links 22, 23, may be disposed parallel instead of transversely to the fore and aft axis of the vehicle.
