Abstract

835,698. Collectors. CLAYTON CRANE & HOIST CO. Ltd. Dec. 14, 195R [Dec. 20, 1955], No. 36403/55. Class 38 (1). [Also in Group XXX] In a bus-bar duct system from which current is collected by a trolley, the duct comprises insulating sections 12 which inter-fit with intermediate carrier boxes 10 attached to supporting brackets 14. The boxes 10 are formed internally with undercut grooves 16a to support busbars 16 and the duct has a longitudinal slot 10a, 12a, for the passage of the collector head of the trolley 18 which carries brushes for engaging the bus-bars. The trolley has wheels 19 adapted to run on rails 20 supported externally of the duct by the brackets 14. Current is fed to the system either through one end-box 10, as shown in Fig. 1, or to a junction-point between bus-bar lengths. Such junctions are effected by fish-plates 23 which are covered by sliding covers 27 and where the junction is used as a feed-point, said cover carries a junction-box.
